ABOUT
Hi everybody. I’m a singer/guitarist/songwriter. I’ve been playing the Maryland, DC, Virginia area since I was a teenager and currently play about 70 shows a year. I perform solo, with my good friend Eric Wolf (lead guitar) in the Mike Mead & Eric Wolf Duo and The MIKE MEAD BAND. My biggest inspirations come from the 70’s era of music from artists like Elton John to Kiss to Led Zeppelin. I began gigging locally when I was 16 years old and played in many projects before becoming the front man of Frankie and the Actions with my good friend Frankie Clarke. My journey with music through the years has taken me so many places with great memories and meeting new people.
Currently, I’m doing my regular solo acoustic show. In addition to that, Eric Wolf (lead guitar) and I perform regularly as Mike Mead/Eric Wolf Duo.

Well, well, well. What have we here? Another day, another month, almost half a year. Two years into my 60’s, it boggles the mind at how frighteningly fast time is flying. I’ve been playing music almost nonstop for damn near 48 years. Whew! I’m getting tired. The last several years I’v e played more than I ever have in my life. Way more dates per year than 25 years ago. My acoustic shows seem to be the easiest gigs to play these days. Second in line are my gigs with my beloved Eric Wolf, lead guitarist, friend and confidante these last 10 years. Then of course, there is The Mike Mead Band. Four aging rockers giving it one last go round. Ronnie Taber, Mike Dowler and Eric Wolf and I rocking our blockage laden, stent ridden, little hearts out. This is a tough one. We’ve got gigs on the calendar for the summer. If you wanna see something cool and throwbacky, come see us.
A few big changes coming for me personally. All good and exciting stuff. No big secret, just some things are lining up for some positive changes for me and I’m taking advantage of the timing. More on that next month. Promise. I’ve really had a great music career here in the Maryland area and I’m okay with all that I’ve accomplished and the things I’ve NOT done as well, if that makes any sense to anyone.
My new song, THE MESS, is near completion and will be released this summer ! another promise lol
