ABOUT
Hi everybody. I’m a singer/guitarist/songwriter. I’ve been playing the Maryland, DC, Virginia area since I was a teenager and currently play about 70 shows a year. I perform solo and also with my good friend Eric Wolf (lead guitar) in the Mike Mead & Eric Wolf Duo. My biggest inspirations come from the 70’s era of music from artists like Elton John to Kiss to Led Zeppelin. I began gigging locally when I was 16 years old and played in many projects before becoming the front man of Frankie and the Actions with my good friend Frankie Clarke. My journey with music through the years has taken me so many places with great memories and meeting new people.
Currently, I’m doing my regular solo acoustic show. In addition to that, Eric Wolf (lead guitar) and I perform regularly as Mike Mead/Eric Wolf Duo.

So, if you give a shit at all, I’m just about a month out of my spinal surgeries and I’m healing up well and on schedule. It’s so weird to block out a whole month of your life and literally have NOTHING going on except watching paint dry (if I had wet paint) and healing up from my innards being manipulated, which are basically the same thing. You quickly realize, TV sucks, Facebook is boring (but necessary to me), I love my house, BUT NOT 24/7 FOR FUCK’S SAKE, this is not a vacation. anyway, I’m glad I did it, I’m glad it’s over, I’m grateful that I’m still here. Now then…
The summer looks to be busy, as I’ve booked as much as I can handle and allowed for some down time so I can have a few days on DON DUNCAN’S BOAT lol (if you’re reading this, Don) . The solo, duo and now, of course, The MIKE MEAD BAND will be staying as busy as we can and want to. While I’ve been home recuperating, I’ve booked a few extra gigs, so I’ve added them below. As me and my contemporaries get older and real life closes in on us, we can only make the most and best of our days. That’s what I intend to do. So, for a goodtime call… lol
