ABOUT
Hi everybody. I’m a singer/guitarist/songwriter. I’ve been playing the Maryland, DC, Virginia area since I was a teenager and currently play about 70 shows a year. I perform solo, with my good friend Eric Wolf (lead guitar) in the Mike Mead & Eric Wolf Duo and The MIKE MEAD BAND. My biggest inspirations come from the 70’s era of music from artists like Elton John to Kiss to Led Zeppelin. I began gigging locally when I was 16 years old and played in many projects before becoming the front man of Frankie and the Actions with my good friend Frankie Clarke. My journey with music through the years has taken me so many places with great memories and meeting new people.
Currently, I’m doing my regular solo acoustic show. In addition to that, Eric Wolf (lead guitar) and I perform regularly as Mike Mead/Eric Wolf Duo.

Well, fuck, it’s freaking April already ! Life is moving so fast ! Like Keith Richards once said “no one wants to die young, and no one wants to get old either”. so, where does that leave YOU? Hopefully, somewhere in the middle, right in that sweet spot of life. Just enough experience and wisdom not to fuck up too bad, and just enough youthful stupidity to take a few chances and have fun. My music calendar is as full as I can stand, My health is hanging in there ( hopefully, yours is too) and I’m looking forward to spring and summer and seeing all of you !
I bumped into a friend today and didn’t realize friend was facing challenges. Friend always gives off that positive-all together vibe, so I was a little surprised, but not really. WE ALL are facing challenges. So we all have to BE NICE because it goes so far sometimes. I guess I’m getting to be a soft touch as I get older.
Anyway, I’m scheduled to record my vocals on 4/8/26 for my latest original effort, entitled “THE MESS” . it’s a slower, 70’s vibe type song. a la David Gates or Michael Murphy. Then on 4/9/26 Eric Wolf will add his finishing touches of guitar textures. Dave Cornwell producing again, cracking that whip with an iron hand ! In a good way lol. We’re all very excited to get this released. So, stay tuned, kids !
